Floor General — Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data the Floor General app ("Floor General", "the App") collects, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and how to delete it. It applies to coaches and to players. It does not cover our other product, ClipboardIQ, which has its own privacy policy.

1. Who is responsible for your data

Sport Link LLC, Sofia, Bulgaria. Email: sportlink@spotsscoreboard.com

Sport Link LLC ("we", "us") is the data controller for the personal data described here.

2. Who uses Floor General

  • Coaches create an account, set up their team's playing system, and invite their players.
  • Players create their own account with an invitation code from their coach. Players must be at least 13 years old (see section 9).

3. What data we collect

3.1 Your account (coaches and players)

  • Your email address.
  • A password, which we store only in hashed form — or, if you sign in with Google, Apple or Microsoft, the name, email address and account identifier that provider confirms to us.
  • For players, the name shown to your coach and team: the one your sign-in provider gives us, or the part of your email address before the "@".
  • Your preferred language, the date you registered, and your plan (free or paid).

3.2 What a coach enters

  • Team (squad) names, and the names of players on the roster, as the coach types them.
  • Optional notes about a player, a player's roles (the role they play now and the one they are growing into), and invitation codes with an optional name and jersey number.
  • Quiz assignments and deadlines.
  • The team's playing system (offensive and defensive settings), opponent profiles with optional notes, and possessions the coach simulates.
  • Feedback the coach writes about a quiz question. Our staff read it to fix and improve questions.

3.3 Quiz activity

  • The questions a player or coach was asked, the answers chosen, the score, and when the quiz was completed.
  • Accuracy by skill and question type, calculated from those answers.
  • Whether a coach has chosen to share their own quiz accuracy with their players.

3.4 On your device

The App stores your sign-in token, whether you use it as a coach or a player, your current team, your language and your quiz-length preference. It does not store your email address, your name or your quiz content on the device.

3.5 Camera

The camera is used only to scan your coach's invitation QR code. The picture is not saved and not sent anywhere. On Android, the QR scanner is Google's ML Kit, which sends Google basic diagnostics such as the phone model, the app version, performance data and an identifier for that installation.

3.6 Diagnostics

Our servers record errors so we can fix them. An error record can contain the email address typed into a sign-in attempt that failed. These records are used only to diagnose problems and are deleted after 90 days.

3.7 What we do not collect

  • No location, contacts, microphone or photo library access.
  • No date of birth, phone number or home address.
  • No advertising, analytics or crash-reporting services, and no tracking across other apps or websites.
  • No language model processes your data. Quiz questions are built and graded by a deterministic rules engine on our servers: the same situation always produces the same graded answers, each with the rule behind it.

4. How we use your data

  • To run your account and sign you in.
  • To build quizzes for your team, grade answers, and show results and progress.
  • To show coaches their players' results and roles, and to show players their team's average once enough teammates have answered.
  • To process a paid plan.
  • To fix errors and improve quiz questions, using coach feedback.

5. Who can see what

  • Your coach sees your name, your roles, your quiz results and your accuracy by skill.
  • Your teammates may see your name inside quiz questions built from your team's roster, and they see the team's average, not your individual results.
  • A coach's own quiz accuracy is shown to their players only if the coach turns sharing on.
  • Our staff can access data to operate the service, and read coach feedback on questions.

6. Who we share data with

We share personal data only with the service providers below, who process it on our behalf. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not use advertising networks.

  • Sign-in providers — Google, Apple and Microsoft, if you choose to sign in with them. We receive only your name, email address and account identifier, and we check the provider's signature on that information.
  • Google ML Kit — the QR scanner on Android, as described in section 3.5.
  • Payment processors — if you buy a paid plan: Paddle on our website (Paddle is the seller and handles payment data under its own privacy policy), Apple or Google. We never receive card numbers. We receive the subscription status, a transaction identifier and the billing country.
  • Hosting — the servers and databases the service runs on.
  • Email delivery — for messages such as password reset.

We may disclose data if the law or a court requires it.

7. Legal basis (EEA users)

8. How long we keep data

DataKept
Account, team, roster and quiz dataWhile the account is active
Sign-in sessions30 days for coaches and 1 year for players, renewed while you use the App, until you sign out or delete your account
Billing recordsAs tax and accounting law requires (up to 10 years)
Error recordsUp to 90 days

When you delete your account

Open the App, go to Settings and tap Delete account, or follow the steps on our account deletion page. Deletion happens immediately:

  • Your email address, name, password and sign-in identifiers are removed, and the account is closed.
  • For a player: your team membership ends, the name and jersey number your coach gave your invitation are removed, and your name is removed from every saved quiz — yours and your teammates'. In those quizzes you are described by your role instead.
  • For a coach: the player names and notes on your roster are replaced, your question feedback, opponent notes and settings are removed, and players you added who never joined are anonymised. Players who joined with their own accounts keep their accounts and their history.
  • Quiz results, roles and accuracy figures are kept in anonymised form, linked to no one, so your team's averages stay correct.
  • Billing records are kept as section 8 describes.

If deletion cannot be completed, nothing is deleted and the App tells you, so you can try again.

9. Children and teenagers

Players must be at least 13 years old — 14 in Bulgaria, and the age of digital consent in any other EEA country that sets it higher (up to 16). A player under 18 needs a parent's or guardian's agreement to use Floor General. Players join only through an invitation from their coach, and by inviting a player the coach confirms that the player meets this age requirement and, where needed, has a parent's agreement.

We do not ask for a date of birth. If we learn that an account belongs to someone below the minimum age, we delete it. A parent or guardian can ask us to review or delete their child's data at any time by emailing sportlink@spotsscoreboard.com.

10. Your rights

10.1 Under the GDPR (EEA)

You have the right to access your data (Art. 15), correct it (Art. 16), delete it (Art. 17), restrict its processing (Art. 18), receive it in a portable format (Art. 20), and object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21). You can delete your account in the App at any time. For the other rights, email sportlink@spotsscoreboard.com; we answer within 30 days.

You can also complain to a supervisory authority. In Bulgaria that is the Commission for Personal Data Protection (CPDP), 2 Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov Blvd., Sofia 1592; cpdp.bg; kzld@cpdp.bg.

10.2 California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

We collect identifiers (email address, account identifiers) and app activity (quiz answers and results). We do not sell or share personal information as the CCPA defines it, and we do not engage in cross-context behavioural advertising. You have the right to know, delete and correct your personal information, and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. Email us to use them; we respond within 45 days.

11. Where data is processed

Your data is processed in the European Union. If we use a service provider outside the EEA, we will use the safeguards GDPR Chapter V requires, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

12. Security

All traffic between the App and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored hashed. Access to our servers and databases is limited to authorised staff.

13. Changes to this policy

We will post any change on this page; the revision number and date below show the latest version. We will tell you in the App or by email before a material change takes effect.
